Freedom is simple: choose what you want / need
As you know, I am a Linux user since some years ago, and despite I use also OSX, I think Linux is best in some ways, and can be used by every people interested in learning a new, free, stable and usable system. I always say that anybody can learn and use Linux, but, obviously, you need an effort, as, for example, you need an effort for learn a new language.
I don' t want to lie: Linux isn't easy. Is easier than some years ago, but in my opinion is far of being as intuitive as OSX is today; and possibly, it never will. Note that I don't want to scare you!
Many people enjoy this difficulty of Linux, because they think that Linux is an OS only for a little group of geeks that really knows what Linux is, and that the rest of mortals are condemned to use Windows or OSX. That is not Freedom, isn't it? It is supposed that Linux may be used by lots of people, and extremists are not helping. If a new Linux user have a problem, and you can help him, please, help him. I don' t mean to do all work for him, I mean helping him finding the way to fix the problem. And this is not only "search in Google".
I have also to say that Windows is not a piece of crap. Maybe you don't like it, but If someone tells me that he actually loves Microsoft Windows, I won't start laughing and enumerating what facts I don't like of it. Freedom is simple: use what you want. No matter if it isn't cool or pretty. Extremists aren't cool :P In conclusion: use what you like :D Is simple!

El problema es que los primeros en usar Linux como sistema de escritorio fueron los hackers y los usuarios con conocimientos avanzados. Eso hacía que las exigencias en cuanto a usabilidad no fueran las mismas que podían encontrarse en sistemas que se usan másivamente en entornos de escritorio por usuarios normales. Con el paso del tiempo cada vez más gente sin grandes conocimientos de las interioridades de Linux han ido sumándose a la comunidad de usuarios y eso junto con el esfuerzo de compañias de adaptar Linux a sus necesidades empresariales ha servido para simplificar muchísimo el proceso de instalación y la administración a nivel de usuario de estos sistemas.
Al margen de guerras absurdas, cada plataforma de software tiene ventajas y desventajas según las necesidades reales de los usuarios y eso no se puede negar. Puedes odiar mucho a Windows pero si existen personas para las que su software o su manera de hacer las cosas es más productiva que con otras alternativas, no se puede descalificar por completo a la herramienta que es el software. Que no lo olvidemos, al final un sistema operativo es una herramienta para hacer cosas reales con software especifico.
